The Wooden Boat Festival in Madisonville features over 100 classic boats and attracts antique boat lovers from around the country. The festival is presented each October by the Maritime Museum Louisiana in Madisonville. Its a great family event with live entertainment at the Water Street riverfront stage, food and drinks, arts and crafts booths, the Quick ‘n Dirty Boat Building Contest and Parade and plenty more family fun. The boat building contest features individuals and teams creating and piloting their own whimsical seagoing vessels in a grand race on the river for fun and prizes!
For evening entertainment, “Maritime Mania” is a pre-festival gala at the Museum held on the Friday evening before the festival.
